It is already known to everyone that to gain weight is not an easy to do process. You may already know this fact if you are an ectomorph by genetics. If you really want to gain weight, you must do everything big. You must eat big to get big and to lift big. Many of us believed that the key of weight gaining is weightlifting. Though this is an important part, the more important and necessary part when it comes to weight gain is your diet.
There are five simple steps to explain how to gain weight. They are the following.
- The first step is to count the calories you eat in a day (a normal day). Please make sure that you do not change your diet, just eat such as you eat normally in a day and count the consumed calories. This step is very important so try to do it accurately. Also check your weight.
- Once you count the calories you consumed, eat 500 calories more than the previous day. For example, the day you started counting the consumed calories you consumed 2000 calories, you would now eat 500 calories more i.e., 2500 calories for the rest of the week. Increase the calories you get while eating all day all time or eating three big meals a day over five or six meals. Remember to eat one meal every 3 hours. Do not forget the fact that to get big, you must eat big.
- Another important step for weight gain is “weightlifting”. Get in the gym and lift weight. Make it a habit and ensure that you are doing it in the approved manner.
- Weigh yourself at the end of that week. Definitely you will notice the difference. That means you could gain just after one week. Never expect a great difference of 10 or 12 lb increase. If you are gaining more than one or two pounds a week, it is not good for your health and remember that you are on the way to much fat. So try to gain 1 or 2 pounds a week. You can gain 5 to 8 pounds a month.
- At some point of time, you can't see any weight gain. You must eat even more at this point. If you stop gaining weight for at least two weeks, you must consume an extra 250 calories a day. Repeat it till you gain the desired weight.
